Level 1: separate direct evidence from choices

Mark definite matches and exclusions first. Do not turn an either/or sentence into two checks: it leaves two possibilities until another constraint distinguishes them.

Level 2: test one branch on a fresh grid

Choose one side of the either/or constraint temporarily. Copy its consequences across the other pairwise grids. If the trial needs two checks in a row or contradicts a direct exclusion, reject that branch and test the other.

Level 3: review relationship and attribute clues

A clue describing one person in relation to another means they are distinct. Compare the relevant attributes in your copy before completing the last associations. Then use the crime clue, not the story setting, for the accusation.

Volume 1 contains 100 puzzles and the publisher describes the climb from Elementary toward Impossible. A single-digit number sits in the opening band: statements are usable directly, and the grid closes if you honor every negative.

  1. Copy the cast into a blank grid from the printables page.
  2. Mark checks and crosses the sentences state outright.
  3. Fill any row or column that has one blank.
  4. Do not open a solution photo. The back of your own book is the key if you own it.
