Privacy policy

I went through the built HTML before I wrote this page. The only choice we store is the one you make on the cookie bar. Three third parties are wired into the build — Google Analytics 4, Microsoft Clarity for heatmaps and session recordings, and Adsterra for two ad units — and none of them loads before you press Allow.

What actually loads

Third parties compared with the code
NamePurposeWhen
AdsterraAds on murdle.pro: Native Banner ad unit 31515897 and floating Social Bar ad unit 31515898, both under Adsterra website id 6091861 (category Social, adult ads off). Adsterra receives the request, your IP address and the page you are onOnly after you press Allow. Neither tag is in the first HTML: our own code builds both and appends them after your choice, so with Reject, no choice, or a Global Privacy Control signal nothing is requested from Adsterra
Google Analytics 4Page and engagement statistics for murdle.pro, measurement id G-ZXWKCCD7F2; Google receives the request, including your IP address, in a cookieless denial stateThe gtag loader is requested on every page. Consent Mode v2 starts denied, so no _ga cookie is written and no identifier is sent until you press Allow; Reject keeps it that way
Microsoft ClarityHeatmaps and session recordings for murdle.pro, project id yr89g0xj2k; Microsoft receives the request, including your IP address, and text typed into form fields is masked by defaultOnly after you press Allow: the same choice triggers the load, so with Reject, no choice, or a Global Privacy Control signal no request leaves for www.clarity.ms. When it runs it reports to *.clarity.ms
YouTube / GoogleA walkthrough video; Google may receive your IP address and use video cookies and service domains such as youtube.com, googlevideo.com, ytimg.com and google.comOnly after you press Play. The iframe is not in the first HTML; clicking requests this third-party video, independently of the optional ad/analytics choice
CloudflareWebsite delivery and email routing; request metadata and messages you send may be processed by the hosting and routing providerWhen visiting the deployed site or emailing us; this is not an injected browser analytics script
Google / GmailOur contact address forwards to a Gmail mailbox, so Google processes messages you choose to sendOnly when you email us; no Gmail browser script loads on this site
Fontsource filesCourier Prime and Special EliteSelf-hosted with the site, not a Google Fonts request

Ads on this site

Two ad units run on murdle.pro, both from Adsterra and both created for this domain only: one Native Banner above the footer, and the Social Bar, a bar Adsterra floats over the bottom of the page. Nothing else: no second network, no popunder, no interstitial, and no AdSense. Adult ads are switched off in the Adsterra backend. The units are requested only after you press Allow, and the Social Bar has its own Hide button in the footer whose choice we remember.

Cookies and localStorage

Key murdle-pro-consent holds JSON {choice, ts} for 180 days so we do not ask on every visit. If navigator.globalPrivacyControl is true, we store denied and keep ad_storage, ad_user_data, ad_personalization, and analytics_storage denied. Google Analytics adds its own first-party cookies (_ga and _ga_ZXWKCCD7F2) only after you press Allow; with Reject, no choice stored, or a Global Privacy Control signal, none are set.

Consent Mode v2 defaults are denied before the gtag config call, so the Google Analytics 4 tag (G-ZXWKCCD7F2) starts cookieless and writes no cookie until you press Allow. ads_data_redaction and url_passthrough are on. The Cookie settings button in the footer reopens the bar. Reject clears the grant.

Microsoft Clarity sets its own first-party cookies (for example _clck and _clsk) to identify a browser and group page views into a session. The tag is requested only after you press Allow, so with Reject or no choice it never runs; if you withdraw the choice, Clarity is not requested again on your next visit (the already-requested script cannot be unloaded without a reload). Clear it with your browser's site-data controls, or use Microsoft's opt-out at https://clarity.microsoft.com/optout.

Adsterra ad units are requested only after you press Allow; we pass them no profile of your visit. The tags are Adsterra's own scripts, so any storage they set, and the choice of creative, is theirs. Key murdle-pro-adbar remembers whether you hid the floating Social Bar, so a bar you close stays closed on later visits instead of returning on every page view; the footer button toggles it again. Withdrawing your choice with Cookie settings removes both Adsterra tags from the page.

Our own ads.txt declares no seller. Adsterra tells publishers it does not supply ads.txt entries, and its publisher backend shows no publisher id, so there is no real value to write; an invented line would authorise the wrong party to sell this inventory.

Legal basis, retention, rights

Personalized-ad controls, if you use them elsewhere: Google at https://adssettings.google.com and the DAA at https://optout.aboutads.info. We hand no profile of your visit to Adsterra, so those links do not change what you see on murdle.pro. Global Privacy Control is treated as a refusal when the browser exposes it, and it also keeps the Adsterra tags out of the page.

Questions and answers

Do you use Google Analytics?

Yes, one Google Analytics 4 property with measurement id G-ZXWKCCD7F2. The tag loads with consent denied, so no cookie and no identifier are used until you press Allow. Reject keeps it cookieless, and you can change the choice from Cookie settings in the footer.

Do you show ads?

Yes, two Adsterra units: a Native Banner above the footer and the floating Social Bar. Both are requested only after you press Allow, so the page is ad-free with Reject, with no choice made, or with Global Privacy Control on. Adult ads are off in the Adsterra backend, and our ads.txt declares no seller because Adsterra supplies no ads.txt entry to copy.

Can I get rid of the floating ad bar?

Yes. The Hide ad bar button in the footer closes it and records the choice in localStorage under murdle-pro-adbar, so it stays closed on later visits instead of returning on every page view. Press the button again to bring it back.

Does the YouTube button track me before I press it?

No. The thumbnail is a static image URL in the button style. The youtube.com iframe is created only after the click.
